VitalHub Announces Sale of B Care to support Osler’s Cardiac Care Program

TORONTO, July 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — VitalHub Corp. (the “Company” or “VitalHub”) (TSXV:VHI) is pleased to announce the sale of the B Care Electronic Health Record (“EHR”) to support William Osler Health System’s (“Osler”) Cardiac Care Program.

This sale follows a successful response to a Request for Proposal issued by Osler to find an Electronic Health Record flexible enough to meet the workflow requirements of its Pacemaker Clinic.  The B Care solution will interface with the primary Hospital Information System; Meditech. This sale follows another successful implementation of B Care in the Cardiology Clinic at Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital.

The B Care Cardiac Outpatient Management Solution (“B Care”), is a fully web-based solution that provides a flexible and highly configurable framework that does not impose a particular documentation approach or workflow. Each B Care implementation is tailored to specific client requirements, providing an ability to leverage existing, proven processes and workflow.

The B Care platform overcomes the many limitations of paper-based records and provides clinicians with significant productivity gains that are realized in a variety of ways. The platform enables faster and more complete access to patient records, eliminating the shuffling of paper records between clinics. It provides instant access to patient information at the point of care, and can be accessed by multiple healthcare providers at the same time, all allowing physicians to spend more time with patients, focusing on better outcomes and improved delivery of care.

The B Care product has been demonstrated to fill an important void, wherein Hospital Information Systems (“HIS”) currently in place do not meet the workflow and client management requirements of cardiology, pacemaker and electrophysiology clinics. This sale is significant, proving VitalHub’s ability to meet this market need in the midst of already-integrated, existing systems. The Company has identified this unmet need across larger academic and tertiary facilities, and has set about to pursue further growth into this market.

“We have demonstrated with this tender that we are competitively positioned and can win complex, RFPs by complimenting a hospital’s existing Hospital Information System to meet the unique workflow requirements of Cardiology programs,” said Dan Matlow, CEO of VitalHub. “This sale is an example of our progress and execution in the market, showing our ability to grow and expand existing solutions through our proven commercialization experience, and our seasoned sales and marketing efforts.”

Osler is a hospital system that serves 1.3 million residents of Brampton, Etobicoke, and surrounding communities within the Central West Local Health Integration Network. Osler’s emergency departments are among the busiest in Canada and its labour and delivery program is one of the largest in the province. William Osler Health System Foundation builds and fosters relationships in order to raise funds to support William Osler Health System’s capital, education and research priorities at Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness.
